We work with member merchants to promote and advocate for all locally owned businesses in the neighborhood. We share common concerns and want to ensure that all our businesses successfully contribute to the economic and social vitality of the community. In order to grow our local businesses and advocate for community needs we speak as a collective voice and address issues like public safety, sanitation, promotion, and street beautification.
In partnership with NYPD, NYC Department of Transportation, the New York City Council, and community organizations, the Southern Boulevard BID works to improve public safety conditions in the area. From potholes, to better lighting, to reducing crime, we work diligently to address public safety issues which impact our community
From advocating for more waste receptacles, to working with the private sector to remove graffiti, debris, weeds and overgrown foliage, the Southern Boulevard BID provides a collective voice with the mission of bettering the community in which we live.
Beautification + Public Programming
Street festivals, block parties, lectures, bar crawls, green space development, and beautification measures help make a neighborhood feel like a community. Southern Boulevard BID seeks to organize and promote the area while also building a beautiful, safe, and clean community for long time residents.
